What We Do
- Coordinate Student Programming Events Many events throughout the school year such as Homecoming Purple Out, the Quad Holiday Tree Lighting, and Madisonfest take place due to the dedication of students. These events increase comradery and the overall school spirit JMU has become famous for having so much of.
- Provide Student Organizations with FundingJMU has over two-hundred organizations that fundraise on their own, recieve funds from the school budget, and take advantage of numerous resources provided by the institution. We assist the organizations when in need of funding for certain events not covered by those other funds.
- Community Relations We uphold to the needs of the JMU community and most importantly the Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley. We maintain relationships with community leaders, police officers, and area school and group leaders to communicate new ideas to improve the student and local citizen experience. We coordinate community service projects both small and large such as The Big Event of last Spring 2011.
